Bill Kings Reconciliation 2004
Submarine Commander Bill King sank Japanese Uboat I-166 in July 1944. Akira tSurakame, son of the Chief Engineer on that Uboat set out on a journey to discover as much as possible about this father he never knew. On his travels, he encountered Katja Boonstra whose father was killed when I-166 torpedoed his boat in 1941.
Akira then discovered Bill King was alive and all three met in Oranmore Castle for a weekend in August 2004. This is their story.
